Project
Benefits to the Community
The ASEAN Potash Mining Project is expected to be completed and start producing potash fertilizer for sale by approximately 2027. The project will bring significant benefits to the country and local communities in several key areas:
- 1. Domestic Fertilizer Production:
The project will produce potash fertilizer for domestic use, reducing the reliance on imported fertilizers by up to 9.8 billion baht annually. This will help stabilize fertilizer prices for the agricultural sector within the country. - 2. Potash Fertilizer Export:
The project will enable the export of potash fertilizers, generating annual revenue of over 10 billion baht for the country. This will enhance Thailand's potential to become a regional hub for fertilizer production in the future. - 3. Government and Local Income:
The government and local administrative organizations will receive revenue from royalties, taxes, and other fees. These funds will support national and local development, contributing to improvements in infrastructure and public services. - 4. Local Employment:
The project is expected to directly create over 1,000 local jobs, stimulating economic growth within the community. It will also enable people from the local area to return to work in their hometowns, allowing families to reunite and strengthen the local social fabric.
These benefits highlight the positive impact of the ASEAN Potash Mining Project on both the national economy and the well-being of the local communities.
