The byproducts from the beneficiation process will consist of sodium chloride (NaCl) and magnesium chloride (MgCl₂). During the initial phase of mining, from Year 1 to Year 4, the tailings will be temporarily stored at the tailings pond. Once sufficient space becomes available in the underground mine, the tailings will be used to fill the voids in the underground mine. This process aims to permanently reduce the environmental impact and enhance the stability of the underground tunnels. At the end of the mining operation, no tailings will remain on the surface, ensuring that all byproducts are safely and sustainably managed.
